Interior Foundation Waterproofing

Perimeter drainage systems and vapor barriers that manage water intrusion from inside your foundation — without excavating your yard or disrupting exterior landscaping.

What Is Interior Foundation Waterproofing?

Interior waterproofing addresses water that has already entered — or is actively entering — your foundation by capturing it at the footing level and directing it to a sump pump for removal. Rather than stopping water at the exterior wall, interior systems manage the water's path once it breaches the foundation, preventing it from accumulating on the floor or wicking up through the slab.

This approach is particularly effective for Westchester County homes where high water tables and clay-heavy soil generate persistent hydrostatic pressure against foundation walls. Interior systems handle that pressure without the cost and disruption of full exterior excavation — making them the right solution for most residential basement waterproofing projects in Scarsdale, White Plains, Yonkers, and surrounding communities.

For homes where interior solutions alone haven't resolved the problem, we may recommend combining interior drainage with exterior foundation waterproofing to address water at the source.

What this service includes:

Manages hydrostatic pressure without exterior excavation

Minimal disruption to landscaping and finished outdoor spaces

Integrates with existing sump pump systems or new installations

Effective for both poured concrete and block foundation walls

Reduces basement humidity and mold risk year-round

Our Interior Waterproofing Process

01

Free Inspection & Assessment

We evaluate your foundation type, water entry points, existing drainage, and soil conditions to design the right system for your home.

02

Perimeter Channel Installation

We saw-cut the concrete slab along the perimeter, install a drainage channel system at the footing level, and direct collected water to the sump pit.

03

Vapor Barrier Application

A heavy-duty vapor barrier is applied to the interior foundation walls to prevent moisture migration through porous concrete and block.

04

Sump Pump Integration

The drainage system terminates at a properly sized sump pit. We install or connect to a sump pump — with battery backup — to actively remove collected water.

05

Concrete Restoration

The perimeter trench is filled with clean stone and the slab is restored with fresh concrete, leaving a clean, finished appearance.
